“For me, one of the beautiful things about poetry is how it can embody new ways of seeing and being in the world. It is an art that emphasizes a connection or relationship between the poet  (speaker) and the reader (listener).

Poems tell a story of how  one person views and interprets the world, and through those words, the  reader or listener, may find their own story and be open to new ways of  viewing their own world and experiences.”

Ray Cicetti’s second full-length collection, Songs of Love & Longing, published by Blue Jade Press, is a collection of poems that focuses on two of the most salient issues in our life: love and longing, and how they can awaken us to a deeper, more passionate life. Each poem, like a letter from the world of possibilities.

Ray’s poems have appeared in The Galway Review, Platform Review, Deep Wild Journal, Muse-pie Press, Stillwater Review, Tiferet Poetry Journal and River Heron Review. His first book, A Forest in His Pocket, was published by Finishing Line Press, 2020.

Ray is a practicing psychotherapist and senior teacher at The Empty Bowl Zen Community in Morristown, New Jersey. He lives in northern New Jersey with his wife, Carolyn.

Ray Cicetti, author of 2 books of poetry. His poems explore life and love, and wonder.
